Using the Oxygen Indicator with RP System™

Using the Oxygen indicator is a good way to confirm the performance of the RP System™, especially for testing purposes.

Note: The indicator is for testing purposes, and is not necessarily
required for actual production applications

The indicator is blue when oxygen is present and pink in an oxygen free environment.

  • Remove the indicator from the pouch (which contains an oxygen absorbing agent) and insert it in the container along with the object to be preserved and the RP Agent.
  • Reseal the bag containing the remaining indicators and store under refrigeration.
  • The indicator will turn blue when it comes in contact with oxygen, it will turn pink again after the container becomes oxygen free.
  • The indicator lets you confirm the following:
    • Is the container sealed correctly?
    • Is there a sufficient amount (size and number of pouches) of RP Agent in the bag?
    • Is the container made of a high enough gas barrier packing material?
(A pink indicator will change back to blue in a few days if the barrier level is insufficient.)
  • Indicators are not reusable when used with RP Agent
Caution:
  • Do not ingest
  • Keep away from children
  • Keep away from sunlight
