| 1,3-BAC is a highly reactive cycloaliphatic diamine. The great reactivity of 1,3-BAC comes from its molecular structure. The position of the methylene group allows for the freedom of movement of both primary amines. 1,3-BAC has been used as a variety of chemical intermediates or an epoxy curing agent where color stability, fast ambient cure and good chemical resistance are required.
Recently, in order to increase the production of 1,3-BAC, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical has built a new plant which employs state-of-the-art technologies. For that reason, and because of its tight integration with our main MXDA plant, we have succeeded in reducing the production cost of 1,3-BAC dramatically. This will, we believe, create even more demand for the product. |
